

Dangerous Goods by Air Certificate
Classroom, Remote or Hybrid | 2-3 days | IATA DGR 1.5 – CAA Approved (formerly Category 6)
This course will teach delegates to prepare correctly and verify shipments of dangerous goods for transport by air. The initial course is 3 days in duration and available for remote delivery by a CAA approved instructor. The refresher course is 2 days. Classroom courses are available upon request for in-house groups. The certificate is valid for 2 years and is issued upon successful completion of the exam.
The course is approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in the UK and is certificated upon passing an exam.

- Correctly classify, pack, mark and label a consignment.
- Correctly complete dangerous goods documentation.
- Check shipments for compliance with IATA (Acceptance Check List).

Delegates will be required to pass an exam at the end of the training to become certified. This is completed under supervision by a CAA approved instructor, either remotely or in the classroom.
Three examination papers are offered: A ‘Shipment Paper’ for Shippers/Packers/Cargo Agents; an ‘Acceptance Paper’ if acceptance checks for an Operator or Handling Agent undertaken; a ‘Joint Shipment/Acceptance Paper’ for those who do both functions.
This course is ideal for delegates who have not completed the Dangerous Goods by Air course before or who have not used their certificate for some time.
Recurrent training should be completed within 24 months.
Under the regulations, the specific expiry date of the certificate is extended to the last day of the month that it expires.
The course is approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in the UK and is certificated upon passing an exam. A pass mark of 80% is required. The certificate is valid for 2 years.
