Dangerous Goods by Air (Radioactives)

This course will teach delegates to prepare correctly and verify shipments of radioactive dangerous goods for transport by air. This is specific training for shippers of radioactive materials. It is required in addition to the Dangerous Goods by Air Certificate if shipping any other classes of dangerous goods.
The initial course is 2 days, and the refresher course is 1 day in duration. The certificate is valid for 2 years and is issued upon successful completion of the exam. The course is approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in the UK and is certificated upon passing an exam.
By the end of this session participants will be able to:
- Become familiar with the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
- Correctly classify, pack, mark and label a consignment.
- Correctly complete dangerous goods documentation.
- Check shipments for compliance with IATA (Acceptance Check List).

Delegates will be required to pass an exam at the end of the training to become certified. There are two choices of exams, a choice of Shipper or Operator. This is completed under supervision by a CAA approved instructor, either remotely or in the classroom.
This course is ideal for delegates who have not completed the Dangerous Goods by Air (Radioactives) course before or who have not used their certificate for some time.
Recurrent training should be completed within 24 months.
Under the regulations, the specific expiry date of the certificate is extended to the last day of the month that it expires.
The course is approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in the UK and is certificated upon passing an exam. A pass mark of 80% is required. The certificate is valid for 2 years.
