The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (RQF), formerly CTLLS, is suitable for those currently working in a teaching or training role. This includes trainers or tutors working in a college, independent training providers and workplace trainers. Develop your teaching skills further with a Level 4 qualification. Build a teaching log and demonstrate your skills through teaching observations and written work.

Duration

You can complete this course at your own pace for up to 12 months. Typically, distance learning students complete this course within 6 months.

Learners will achieve 36 credits across 6 units:

• Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
• Delivering education and training
• Using resources for education and training
• Assessing learners in education and training
• Planning to meet the needs of learners 
• Inclusive practice

In addition to our extensive online resources, learners will receive a resource pack by post.

This qualification is suitable for anyone training or teaching learners aged 14+.  Typically, this will be in the FE and Skills sector, or training within a business.

Learners must be 19+ years old to enrol in this course. You do not necessarily need to work in a full-time teaching role, but you will need to be able to complete 30 hours of teaching (learners aged 14+) during the qualification. This may include voluntary work and online sessions.

This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence that covers all assessment criteria for the units selected. Assessment methods include:

• 6 x Written essays
• Training Log (30 hours)
• Initial assessment/diagnostic assessment
• Produce a scheme of work and lesson plans
• 3 hours of teaching/training observations
• Self-evaluation and reflection
• CPD log

Upon successful completion, learners will receive an externally accredited certificate from Focus Awards, a nationally recognised and Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation.
