The Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (RQF) is intended for those who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the work environment (for example, a workshop, classroom or training environment).
Duration
Typically, learners complete it within 3 months, but you can complete it much quicker or take up to 12 months.
Units
Learners will achieve 9 credits across 3 units:
- Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
- Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding

Assessments
This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence that covers all assessment criteria for the units selected. Assessment methods include:
- 1 x written assignment
- Access to two learners, completing two different topics/units.
- 4 x assessments carried out in a classroom or training environment (one to be observed)
- Supporting evidence for each assessment will include planning, assessing and feedback documents.
A qualified assessor in your workplace or your ATC Training tutor can complete the assessment observation remotely.

Who should do this course?
This course aims to meet the needs of a range of trainee assessors, such as:
- Teaching staff working in the further education sector.
- Tutors or instructors working for independent training providers.
- Anyone already in a training or teaching role, where assessment also forms part of the day-to-day role.
Pre-requisites
Learners must be aged 19+ years to be enrolled on this course. If registering for this course as an individual, you must be working or have access to a training or teaching environment, as you must carry out assessments in a live environment as part of the qualification.
Certificate
Typically, within 7 days of successful completion, learners will receive an externally accredited PDF certificate from a nationally recognised and Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation.
