Regulated Qualification | Distance Learning (Self-Study)

The Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (RQF) is intended for those who wish to understand the principles and practices of assessment without any requirement to practice as assessors. This qualification would be chosen if the learner only requires the knowledge of assessing but is not able to assess live learners. This unit, when completed, can be used towards other assessor qualifications in the future.

This is a self-paced course. Complete it in as little as a week or take up to 12 months.

Learners will achieve 3 credits across 1 unit:

  • Understanding the principles and practices of assessment.

In addition to our extensive online resources, learners will receive a resource pack by post (UK and EU only).

This qualification is assessed by completing a written essay.

Who should do this course?

This qualification is designed to provide the knowledge and understanding of assessment to those who need it, but have no need to actively practice as an assessor, or have no access to live learners to assess.

Learners must be aged 19+ years to be enrolled on this course.

Upon successful completion, learners will receive an externally accredited certificate from Focus Awards, a nationally recognised and Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation.
