Manual Handling injuries are among the most common types of work-related accidents in the UK. This course is designed to increase employee awareness of Manual Handling risks and provide practical advice on how to keep safe at work.
In this short course, learners will review recommended lifting techniques and identify ways to minimise manual handling by using lifting aids and team lifts. This Manual Handling Awareness course also includes a basic understanding of the anatomy of the spine, sprains and strains to provide an appreciation of the importance of following guidance and training.

- Recognise key employer and employee responsibilities.
- Identify the benefits of controlling manual handling risk and the LITE assessment method.
- Follow the general safe lifting guidelines for everyday items as recommended by the UK’s HSE.
Assessment
This course contains a multiple-choice quiz, which must be completed online and graded immediately with a passing score of 80%. If you fail, you can re-attempt it, and tutor support can be provided upon request.
