Aviation Assessor Certificate now available to enrol!

Our Aviation Assessor Certificate can be completed remotely and is a development program solution to help organisations comply with IATA AHM1110 9.4.

It is common for experienced colleagues, supervisors and managers to act as an ‘Assessor’ as part of their role, often assisting colleagues in the training department to ‘sign off’ staff as being competent in tasks, operating equipment or following procedures.

For several years, IATA has provided guidance within the IATA Airport Handling Manual (AHM) about the training and qualifications that an Aviation Trainer should have. We offer the Aviation Train the Trainer Certificate and/or the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, as a solution for this and other requirements, including the UK CAA.

This year’s new release of the IATA AHM (Edition 44) has further defined the roles of a Trainer, On-the-Job Trainer, and Assessor. It adds additional guidelines about the qualification of these roles and this includes reference to Assessors completing an internal or external development program. We are pleased to launch the Aviation Assessor Certificate to help organisations demonstrate compliance with these changes. We also offer the option to add a Level 3 Assessor qualification which is also recognised in the wider education and training sector.

About the course:

The Aviation Assessor Certificate will take approximately 15 hours to complete. This can be done remotely, self-paced with up to 6 months to complete it. It includes specific information about assessing in the aviation environment in addition to wider theory, principles and practices of assessment. It has been developed using CBTA methodology and includes an online knowledge assessment plus a practical competency assessment, carried out in the workplace.  Evidence of this assessment is submitted to an ATC Training tutor for review, including a self-evaluation.

Those wishing to add the Level 3 Assessor qualification will be required to complete additional theory and practical assessments. Further information here

How to Enrol:

Individuals can enrol online and pay with a card, or spread the cost over three interest-free payments using Klarna or PayPal. As this includes a practical activity, candidates enrolling must be in a position to complete a practical assessment in the workplace.

Companies wishing to enrol individuals or groups, can do so by completing the booking form here. Bulk discounts are available and options are available for online tutor-led workshops for groups of 6 or more candidates, reducing the requirement for self-study.
