Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain the definition of Safeguarding.
- List different types of abuse or neglect.
- Identify common signs or scenarios that may be an indicator of abuse.
- Respond to a safeguarding disclosure or concern.
Assessment
This course contains a multiple-choice quiz, which must be completed online and graded immediately with a passing score of 80%. If you fail, you can re-attempt it, and tutor support can be provided upon request.

Who should do this course?
This course is suitable for employees, supervisors or managers working in a wide range of care or support roles. This includes adult education and training, NHS or other care workers, pharmacists, dentists, therapists, volunteers, housing officers, helpline call handlers etc.
This course is not designed for those working with children. Anyone working as a safeguarding lead should seek additional training.
Pre-requisites
This course is suitable for those with no prior knowledge. To access the content, learners must have access to the Internet and an individual email address.
Certificate
This course includes a PDF certificate that is available for immediate download upon successful completion.
Validity
The certificate is valid for 3 years, although your employer may require more frequent refresher training.
