A Fire Warden plays an important part in an organisation’s fire safety procedures. Organisations usually appoint one or more people in each office, shift pattern, or area to ensure coverage across operational hours. A Fire Warden will work with the employer to ensure effective fire evacuation procedures and contribute to the fire prevention strategy.
Our course provides practical advice on fire prevention and action upon discovery of a fire, including an introduction to fire extinguishers. In addition to the content covered in our Fire Safety Awareness course, this course includes additional content specific to people designated as Fire Wardens or Fire Marshals.

- Identify ways to reduce the risk of fire in the workplace.
- Raise the alarm quickly and react to fire appropriately.
- Recognise different types of firefighting equipment and extinguishing methods.
- Contribute to creating and maintaining fire risk assessments and evacuation plans.
- Carry out a fire drill to check the effectiveness of evacuation procedures.
Assessment
This course contains a multiple-choice quiz, which must be completed online and graded immediately with a passing score of 80%. If you fail, you can re-attempt it, and tutor support can be provided upon request.

This course provides the necessary theory knowledge for those appointed as a Fire Warden or Fire Marshal in a general workplace.

Validity
The certificate is valid for 3 years, although your employer may require more frequent refresher training.
