Assessor Courses Now Available with Tutor-Led Online Training

Our Assessor Courses Are Now Available with a One-Day Tutor-Led Option

We’re pleased to announce that our assessor courses are now available with a one-day, tutor-led online training option, delivered live via Microsoft Teams.

This is something our learners have regularly asked for. While our flexible self-study route remains available, you can now choose how you would prefer to complete the theory element of your assessor training: independently through self-study or by attending a live online session with a tutor.

The tutor-led session runs from 09:30 to 16:00 UK time and is open to candidates in the UK, UAE and worldwide.

Self-Study or Tutor-Led Assessor Training – You Choose

We know that everyone learns differently, which is why we now offer two ways to approach the theory element of our assessor courses.

Our self-study route offers maximum flexibility. You can work through the course materials in your own time and fit your studies around work and other commitments.

Alternatively, our new one-day tutor-led option provides a more structured learning experience. You’ll attend a live online session via Microsoft Teams, work through the key theory with a tutor and have the opportunity to ask questions along the way.

Both options allow you to work towards the same qualification – you can simply choose the learning approach that works best for you.

What Is Covered on the One-Day Tutor-Led Course?

The one-day session focuses on the key theory required for the Understanding Principles and Practices of Assessment theory unit of your assessor qualification.

Your tutor will take you through the important concepts and help you develop a clear understanding of the theory behind assessment.

For learners who prefer to discuss a subject rather than work through all of the theory independently, this can make approaching the Unit 1 written assignment much easier.

You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, clarify anything you’re unsure about and leave the session with a much better understanding of what is required when completing your written work.

We’ll Also Help You Plan Your Practical Assessment Evidence

The tutor-led day isn’t only about Unit 1.

We also use the session to look ahead at the practical assessment evidence you will need to submit later in your qualification.

We’ll discuss how you can plan your practical assessments and the evidence you’ll need to gather, so you can start thinking about this before reaching the practical stage of the course.

Having a plan in place early can make completing your qualification considerably more straightforward, particularly if this is your first assessor qualification.

Which Learning Route Is Right for Me?

The best option depends on how you prefer to learn.

The self-study route may be right for you if you:

  • Prefer to study independently
  • Need maximum flexibility
  • Want to work through the theory at your own pace
  • Are comfortable completing your written work using the learning materials provided

The one-day tutor-led route may be a better choice if you:

  • Prefer live teaching and discussion
  • Like being able to ask questions as you learn
  • Want a structured introduction to the Unit 1 theory
  • Would value guidance on planning your practical assessment evidence

The important point is that you now have a choice.

If you’re still deciding which assessor qualification you need, read our guide Assessor Courses Explained: Which One Is Right for Me?. It explains the different assessor qualifications and can help you identify the most appropriate course for your requirements.
