The Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (RQF) is intended for those who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the work environment (for example, a workshop, classroom or training environment).

Duration

Typically, learners complete it within 3 months, but you can complete it much quicker or take up to 12 months.

Learners will achieve 9 credits across 3 units:

• Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
• Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding

In addition to our extensive online resources, learners will receive a resource pack by post (UK and EU only).

This course aims to meet the needs of a range of trainee assessors, such as:

• Teaching staff working in the further education sector.
• Tutors or instructors working for independent training providers.
• Anyone already in a training or teaching role, where assessment also forms part of the day-to-day role.

Learners must be aged 19+ years to be enrolled on this course. If registering for this course as an individual, you must be working or have access to a training or teaching environment, as you must carry out assessments in a live environment as part of the qualification.

This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence that covers all assessment criteria for the units selected. Assessment methods include:

• 1 x written assignment
• Access to two learners, completing two different topics/units.
  • 4 x assessments carried out in a classroom or training environment (one to be observed)
  • Supporting evidence for each assessment will include planning, assessing and feedback documents.

A qualified assessor in your workplace or your ATC Training tutor can complete the assessment observation.

Upon successful completion, learners will receive an externally accredited certificate from Focus Awards, a nationally recognised and Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation.
